Well this update is a little over due but I thought I would share with you a few images and sketches I completed whilst at Bunginderry. It was a wonderful weekend shared with the ten fellow artists on the WOW- Way out west artist development project. Many thanks to Nicole Harper for organising and Annebelle Tully who hosted it on her property Bunginderry. The property is approx 80km from Quilpie, about 5hrs drive from Longreach. I dragged my family along for the trip and my darling husband entertained them in Quilpie while I was away doing my Art thing.
Anyway the weekend involved lots of chatting, organising, painting, drawing and few drinks. We were taken to some amazing parts of the property from rocky outcrops to, red sand dunes, the beautiful range and open plains. So much inspiration and wonderful to be surrounded with like minds.
Anyway here is one of my favorite works from the weekend, I have posted a photo next to each work to show you my inspiration. It was also so enjoyable working out doors, something I haven’t done but definitely will in the future.
Some works took a few mins others a couple of hours. Below are some more sketches I completed when I go up early one morning and wondering around not far from the house. I played with pencil sketches, quick ink sketches and watercolours. I also took heaps of photos that I can draw inspiration from now that Ive returned home.

Love the movement in this quick sketch

And another I did one morning sitting quietly listening to all the birdlife in the trees….

One of the most memorable places for me was the time at the red sand dunes below, I never took my paints but I did take lots of photos and I really soaked in my time here. I will do another post with some images from here as I have so many. I have included one quick sketch which tried to capture the movement and pattern of the sand on the dunes. Such a wonderful place and it has given me so much inspiration to produce some works. So watch out for some more artworks sooooon!!
